Basil Karlo was an actor who had grown to old for his most famous role. When he was replaced he was driven mad and became a masked killer. Later, he would be granted shapeshifting abilities and a monstrous form. Known as Clayface, he would terrorize Gotham and became one of Batman's toughest foes. Recently, Batman has begun trying to reform the malleable man into a hero. Will he succeed as a hero, or be forever doomed to stalk Gotham's streets as a villain? Only time will tell.

When Peter Parker died in the Ultimate Universe, a young person of color was there to continue his legacy. Miles Morales would initially be a polarizing character in comics, but with his new take on the mantle, as well as his well written stories he has become embraced by many fans. Following the events of Secret Wars, he now exists in the main Marvel continuity alongside his inspiration, Peter Parker.

173: Apocalypse!

Born 5,000 years ago as probably the first mutant, En Sabah Nur would become obsessed with the concept "survival of the fittest". Later known as the powerful, evil mutant Apocalypse, he would assemble his Four Horseman and try to eliminate the weak of the world, believing only the strong should survive. This episode should give you all the background you need for the title character of X-Men: Apocalypse.

172: Darkseid!

Born on Apokolips as Prince Uxas, the young man usurped those in line ahead of him to claim the throne. Being ruler wasn't enough so he stole the powers of the Old Gods to become the New God Darkseid. Locked in an eternal war with his brother Highfather of New Genesis, and prophesied to die at the hand of his son Orion, Darkseid became a threat to all who value free will while in his quest to obtain the Anti-Life Equation.

171: Red Robin / Tim Drake

Tim Drake was the third person to serve as Batman's sidekick Robin. Though he carried on a rich comic book tradition, he redefined Robin's role. He served as a detective, Computer hacker, and overall more intellectual Robin. Tim Drake is a character that always emphasizes smarts over guts. As he felt he became his own hero, he added Red to Robin to create a moniker that was all his own.

170: Squirrel Girl

Created in 1992 in order to bring a little fun back into comics, Doreen Green definitely made her mark in the Marvel Universe. With all the proportional abilities of a squirrel, she may not seem very impressive, but don't make the mistake of underestimating her. Squirrel Girl's list of victories may be the most impressive in all of comics, proving that you can't judge a squirrel by it's cover.

169: Mar-Vell with Dan and Tom (It's not a repeat!)

yes, we've done this before about 3 years ago, but we all got together for a reunion and to try to do it better this time. Dan Ritchie and Tom Norris from the When Nerds Collide podcast join me to talk about the "other" Capt. Marvel from his arrival on Earth until his death. An interesting topic with a lot great and fun discussion.

168: Wonder Woman Part Two

This is part two of a two part episode about Wonder Woman. Diana was the first child born on Paradise Island when Hippolyta, Queen of the Amazons, molded a child from clay and the gods gifted it with life. Later, Princess Diana would win a contest among the other women of Themiscyra to serve as the Amazon's first emissary to the world of man. Once there she quickly caught the attention of the world with the heroics that would lead to her being known as Wonder Woman. She would become perhaps one the most iconic characters in all of comics, a founding member of the Justice League, as well as a member of the Trinity of Heroes along with Batman and Superman.
