200: Cobra Commander

Is he from the pre-human race of Cobra-La or is he a used car salesman? When it comes to Cobra Commander, why not both? This episode dives into the dueling origin stories of the leader of the international terrorist organization Cobra, the arch foe of G.I. Joe.

199: Blue Beetle (Ted Kord)

Ted Kord was the second Blue Beetle, the only Blue Beetle without super powers. He began his comic book existence then moved to DC during the Crisis on Infinite Earths. He is close to my heart for his "Blue and Gold" adventures as well as for being the inspiration for Watchmen's Nit-Owl.

198: Mantis

Abandoned by her European father to a temple of alien priest she was raised to be a Kung-Fu master and celestial madonna. She later married and intelligent alien plant and gave birth to the celestial messiah. She did all of that before becoming a Guardian of the Galaxy. Oh yeah, she also went to DC for a couple of issues.

196: Bizarro

An imperfect copy of Superman, Bizarro has been around since the 1950's. His cultural impact has been massive, and he's had many different incarnations. This episode looks at this truly pitiable character.

195: Starman (Jack Knight)

Jack Knight is the 7th person to call himself Starman. He was a reluctant hero, preferring to collect old toys to fighting crime. Jack was reluctantly thrust into the role of hero, and his story is a study in the dynamics of family as well as dealing with a legacy.

193: Nova (Richard Rider)

Support the show on Amazon!

Richard Rider was just an average teenager until a dying alien transferred the Nova force to him, making him Nova Prime. After some heroics on Earth, Nova was called to Xandar to serve in the Nova Corps. Later, he became a founding member of the ill fated New Warriors.

Trapped in a world he never made! Howard was taken unaware from his home in Duckworld by an evil overmaster, and showed up at the Florida Everglades courtesy of the Nexus of all Realities. He met Man-Thing, then moved to Cleveland. He met a nice girl named Beverly, ran for President, and had many other absurd adventures.
