118: Constantine with Matt Smith

This week Matt joins Bruce to discuss DC's top demonologist and mystic, John Constantine. First appearing as a mysterious figure in the pages of Alan Moore's Saga of the Swamp Thing, Constantine went on to star in his own very succesful and long running Hellblazer comic under the Vertigo imprint. He made enemies in the underworld in a gambit to cure his lung cancer, then later convinced God it was in the best interest of Heaven if his soul never goes to hell. Able to outsmart demons and angels alike, Constantine seems to bring nothing but death and suffering to those who get close to him. This episode contains no explicit language, but does discuss sensitive subject matter that may not be suitable for young children. Parental discretion advised.

117: Christian Walker / Powers with Sean Keenan

This week Sean joins Bruce to discuss the central character from one of Sean's favorite comics, Brian Michael Bendis' Powers. Once one of the world's greatest superpowered heroes, Christian Walker has lost his superhuman gifts and now works for the police in the "Powers Division". Though no longer able to fly and or use superstrength, Walker still leads the fight against superpowered villains with his partner Pilgrim. The discussion dives into the thousands of years that constitute Walker's life, and of course there is ample comparison between the character from the comics and the one appearing in the new show on Playstation Network.
