Heroes and Villains 47: Ambush Bug

The Deeply, Deeply disturbed Irwin Schwabb dons an extra terrestrial suit and wreaks havoc across the DC Universe as the infamous Ambush Bug. A character that frequently breaks the fourth wall and gladly gives you a lesson in comic book history, Ambush Bug is a must read comic for new and experienced readers alike. I'm not sure exactly how the peices all fell together for Keith Giffen, but they did in creating such a beautiful and interesting character. There is certainly something new and interesting for every listener in this solo episode.

Heroes and Villains 45: Todd the Ugliest Kid on Earth with writer Ken Kristensen

Todd the Ugliest Kid on Earth from Image Comics is one of the most original books I've read in ages! This week I am lucky enough to be joined by writer and co-creator of Todd, Ken Kristensen to discuss the character in detail. First by horribly mutilating him, then by rebuilding him as perhaps more machine than man. Cyborg did find some solace in being a hero and role model for other children with their own disabilities. Heroes and Villains 40: Emperor Palpatine/ Darth Sidious (Star Wars Comics!) with Ryan Allgood

The most conniving politician that I have ever focused on so far. The weasel that convinced the sweet and pure Jar-Jar Binks to found the Galactic Empire. The scoundrel that made Darth Vader into his lap dog. The most purely evil villain that I've ever profiled (maybe even worse than George Lucas himself!) is Senator, Chancellor, Emperor Palpatine...AKA Darth Sidious. Heroes and Villains 7: Namor the Sub-Mariner, Marvel's first mutant

Debuting in Marvel Comics #1, he is one of Marvel's first superheroes. Also widely considered to be Marvel's first mutant, and the very first comic book anti-hero. Making his splash (pun intended) about 2 years before Aquaman, he is Namor one of the most influential golden age characters.

Heroes and Villains 6: Damian Wayne (the Fifth Robin)

Inspired by Batman, Inc. that was released today, I bring you a superhero that has been all over the (spoilery) headlines. I do reveal a spoiler at the end of the show, but let's be honest, I am spoiling the worst kept secret in comic books. Don't worry I don't spoil until the end of the show and I give plenty of warning. Now sit back, get comfortable, and listen to me tell you all about the son of Batman - Damian Wayne!

Heroes and Villains 5: The Phantom

He introduced the world to skin tight costumes. He defended the jungle, existing as more of a legend than a man. He swore to devote his life to the destruction of piracy, greed, cruelty, and injustice, in all their forms. Packing pistols and carrying on the family tradition, no one intimidated the bad guys like The Phantom!

Heroes and Villains 4: Dr. Fate

You guys made it clear last week that you don't like the Juggernaut, so I'm going back to the Golden Age with a classic Hero, and founder of the Justice Society. This week I profile Dr. Fate, The Mystic Mage. He is a master of an ancient type of magic brought to Earth before the dawn of man. He has been shown to be powerful enough to fight off Superman and the Martian Manhunter at the same time! Is he the most powerful person in the DC Universe? Listen to find out.
