Heroes and Villains 47: Ambush Bug

The Deeply, Deeply disturbed Irwin Schwabb dons an extra terrestrial suit and wreaks havoc across the DC Universe as the infamous Ambush Bug. A character that frequently breaks the fourth wall and gladly gives you a lesson in comic book history, Ambush Bug is a must read comic for new and experienced readers alike. I'm not sure exactly how the peices all fell together for Keith Giffen, but they did in creating such a beautiful and interesting character. There is certainly something new and interesting for every listener in this solo episode.

Heroes and Villains 46: The Shredder (from TMNT comics!) with Rachel Pandich

This week we discuss The Shredder, that Foot Clan regional manager for the New York branch who is the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle's big bad. The always great Rachel Pandich joins me once again to discuss what is clearly one of her favorite topics. The blood feud that began with a love triangle involving Shredder's brother and Splinter's master made its way half way around the globe from Japan to New York and made Shredder a sworn mortal enemy of the Turtles. Tune in to learn about the many ways the Shredder evolved over the years.

Heroes and Villains 45: Todd the Ugliest Kid on Earth with writer Ken Kristensen

Todd the Ugliest Kid on Earth from Image Comics is one of the most original books I've read in ages! This week I am lucky enough to be joined by writer and co-creator of Todd, Ken Kristensen to discuss the character in detail. This boy with a heart of gold, but a face so ugly that he has to cover it with a brown paper bag, has been to prison and come between Charlie Rose (from PBS) and his pact with the Devil. This has all happened in only 6 issues!

Be sure to check out Todd #7 on November 20th, either at your local comic book store or via comixology.

Heroes and Villains 43: Amanda Waller (Checkmate/Suicide Squad) with Tinzien

Tinzien from the Death D4 Dishonor podcast joins me once again to discuss another great character. This time it is Dr. Amanda Waller, perhaps the strongest woman in the DC universe. She come from humble beginnings, living in public housing in inner city Chicago, but after being struck by tragedy she rose to the level of the President's cabinet. Though her story is inspiring, she really does come across as more of a villain than a hero. Listen up to learn all about Amanda "the wall" Waller

Heroes and Villains 42:Halloween Special! Etrigan The Demon with Jess Hall

Listen up to the special Halloween Episode! Jess Hall from The Infinite Longbox joins me to discuss horror classic, Etrigan The Demon. Created by Jack Kirby in 1972, Etrigan is truly a "hellish" character. Bound to the human Jason Blood, and summoned to Earth by a rhyming incantation, Etrigan has appeared throughout the DC Universe. For extra fear try listening to this episode in the Dark!

Heroes and Villains 41: Cyborg

A Teen age superhero created by an inter-dimensional experiment gone awry, Cyborg is one of the cornerstones of The Teen Titans. Victor Stone was trying to be an ordinary highschool kid when one of his father's experiments changed his life forever. First by horribly mutilating him, then by rebuilding him as perhaps more machine than man. Cyborg did find some solace in being a hero and role model for other children with their own disabilities. Listen up to this episode to hear how Victor Stone was forever transformed into Cyborg.
