Abandoned by her European father to a temple of alien priest she was raised to be a Kung-Fu master and celestial madonna. She later married and intelligent alien plant and gave birth to the celestial messiah. She did all of that before becoming a Guardian of the Galaxy. Oh yeah, she also went to DC for a couple of issues.
